Important Usage Guidelines for MaxRetainer Products

Multiple Orders Policy:

  • Each order should be placed separately for each individual. Orders for multiple people cannot be combined in a single purchase.

Purpose of Retainers:

  • The primary function of a retainer is to keep your teeth in their current position.

Usage and Fit:

  • Regular wear is essential. If you stop wearing your retainer for an extended period, your teeth may shift, causing the retainer to no longer fit properly.

Wisdom Teeth (3rd Molars):

  • MaxRetainer does not include wisdom teeth in our retainers unless specifically requested by the customer before placing the order.

Dental Work Considerations:

  • Taking teeth impressions may impact existing dental work, including fillings, crowns, bridges, or loose teeth. There is a minimal risk that the impression material could affect these dental works.

Custom Fit and Dental Health:

  • Our retainers are designed to prevent teeth from shifting. However, customers with loose fillings, crowns, veneers, bridges, or significant tooth decay should be aware that wearing retainers or other oral appliances could potentially worsen these issues. It is crucial to ensure that your teeth and dental work are stable before using our products. For any concerns, please contact us directly.

Potential Occlusion and TMJ Issues:

  • While retainers are generally safe, using any oral appliance like plastic or acrylic between your teeth could potentially lead to occlusion or TMJ (Temporomandibular Joint) issues for some individuals.

Recommended Wearing Schedule:

  • To minimize the risk of bite and TMJ problems, follow this wearing schedule:

    • Unless advised by your dentist or orthodontist, avoid wearing both retainers simultaneously.

    • Initially, wear one retainer during the day and the other at night for the first couple of weeks after finishing your treatment.

    • After the initial period, wear one retainer nightly, alternating between the top and bottom retainer each night.

    • If you notice any shifting while alternating nights, return to wearing one retainer during the day and the other at night until stability is achieved.
