  • 1. How do I take impressions for my custom retainer?
To take impressions for your custom retainer, follow these steps: Order Your Kit: Start by ordering our impression kit. Take Impressions: Use the kit to take impressions of your teeth at home. Detailed instructions are included to guide you through the process. Send Them Back: Return the impressions to us using the prepaid shipping label provided. Receive Your Retainer: We’ll craft your custom retainer and send it to you promptly.
  • 2. How long will my retainer last?
With proper care, your MaxRetainer clear retainer can last anywhere from 6 months to 3 years. The lifespan can vary based on factors such as: Usage: Frequent wear can lead to wear and tear over time. Teeth Grinding: If you grind or clench your teeth, the retainer might wear out faster. Consider using a grind guard if this is a concern. Maintenance: Regular cleaning and proper storage when not in use can help extend the life of your retainer.
  • 3. What should I do if my retainer doesn’t fit anymore?
If your retainer no longer fits properly, it could be due to changes in your teeth alignment from not wearing it regularly. Here's what you can do: Check the Fit: Try wearing the retainer for short periods and see if it adjusts. Contact Us: If it remains uncomfortable or doesn’t fit, contact us to discuss options for getting a new impression and retainer. Avoid Further Shift: To prevent further teeth movement, wear the ill-fitting retainer as much as possible until you receive a replacement.
  • 4. Are wisdom teeth included in my retainer?
By default, MaxRetainer retainers do not include wisdom teeth (third molars) in the mold. If you need your retainer to cover wisdom teeth, please notify us before placing your order. Including wisdom teeth can be done upon request and may affect the design and fit of your retainer.
